Identity for a character series
The designer Angela Kiely, a puppet painter for Tim Burton and Wes Anderson among others, created a character family where the protagonist is Albert, a friendly, cheeky puppy. She created a world around the characters and ask me to design a custom typeface for this purpose, I started with the design of the logo mark for the launch of the website www.alberts.world
The idea for the type was to design a friendly typeface, appealing to children and the child in all of us, dynamic and expressive capable to give a distinctive identity to the series, but also to the communication campaign that will come afterwards. Angela had a preference for 50’s and 70’s fonts but with something that can be modern too, and that was my proposal, that she loved at first sight.
