Mestres del Blanc! is a section of the Blanc Festival directed by Vicent Almiñana. It seeks to praise a professional trajectory dedicated to the experimentation, defence and vindication of the Culture of Design and Visual Communication. A constant and innovative work that adds value to the profession beyond a business factor. Besides that, Blanc! organizes a public homage consisting in a lecture and the delivery of a diploma designed by a different person on each occasion.
In 2020 this recognition went to a woman or the first time: Toni Miserachs, born in Barcelona in 1942. In the previous years, the homage went to Eric Huguet and Jordi Pericot. Toni is one of the first representatives of design graphic in Catalonia after the Civil War. She belongs to that generation of professionals who cooperated in the Visual Culture during and before the Spanish Transition.”

The design

The design is based on the idea of using forms and colours with sensitivity, as a system and with precision, some of the qualities of Toni's work. My personal contribution consisted of emphasizing the communicative role of typography for which I used my own stencil typeface Sisters. The production of the poster was also a very important part of the homage. The poster is printed in three colours (orange, red and white) and a UVI varnish. The different combination of the parts of the letters invite to discover the content, and the use of varnish (represented here in black) makes it even more special. I am Núria did a great job :)
